1st Experience With Ink Refills

Here's an experience by one of my friend who bought an ink refill kit for his HP Photosmart C6180 printer.

As soon as he opened the refill package, he took out the content which include things such as the tools (ink bottles, syringe, dripping tools) and instructions. Without going through the step-by-step in details (This is usually what he do......he just skims through reading stuff), he started to drip the hole into his black ink cartridge.

Guess what's next.....yeah, he started to inject the cartidge with new black ink. Just like all beginners, he refilled his printer cartridge making sure that it was full. The same procedure applies where he used some tissues to wipe out excessive ink.

Ok, looks like everything is ready....let's see how this goes. He started to clip the refilled cartridge into the printhead and just like any modern desktop printers. It takes time to recharge the ink into the printhead.

Important documents are piling up on his desk and he's eagerly waiting for his printer to finish up so he can run some test prints. Suddenly, the printer started to make some strange noises.....very strange noises. As soon as he leaned his head forward to get a quick loook, ink started to pour out of his printer, all over his desk and all over his papers, documents, calculators....you name it!

HELPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ARHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess you know what happens next.......that's right......he spents the next 4 hours cleaning up his desk, his printer, his hands and then another 30mins driving to his local store shouting at the sales rep who sold him the package.

"Have you read the instructions?" the sales rep asked.

"Of course I have", Paul said. (Opps....sorry Paul....i won't use your lastname)

"From what you're describing to me, it appears like you're over-refilling your inkjet cartridge", the sales rep said. "If you can take a look at the instruction manual. It tells you not to refill your cartridge in full."

Lesson Learn!

NEver refill your ink cartridge too full (usually 3/4 or abit less is perfect) and always take the time to read the instruction manual before you attempt to do any ink refill for yourself.

Happy Printing!
